New Layer button. I didnt name my layer, so youll see it shown
as Layer 1 (the default name) in the illustrations.
With the new layer selected, do the same thing
with the angle gradient tool that
you did with the first layer. |

When you have a
pattern you like, play with the layers opacity and blend
mode to find a mix that you like between the new layer and the background
layer.
The Overlay blend mode, with
a 100 % opacity setting gave the image below.
Ill show you this image, with a filter applied,
and then Ill so something a little more complicated. This first, simple
one should show you the technique.
